Blackgrove Light & Water

Blackgrove Light & Water is the Township's municipal utility. It provides electric and water service throughout the County, maintains the Township's lines, substations and interconnections, publishes the Blackgrove Almanac, and includes the Office of Weights, Measures and Time. Light & Water is governed by the Light & Water Commission, which meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Paying Your Bill

Bills are mailed on the first business day of each month and are due on the twentieth. Payment may be made by check or cash at the Light & Water office or at the Treasurer's window in the Township Offices, or by check through the post. Light & Water does not accept payment online. A drop box is located beside the office door for payments after hours.

Rates

Rates effective January 1, 2025. The Commission voted on October 28, 2025 to keep rates unchanged for 2026.

Before You Dig

Anyone planning to dig deeper than one foot must notify the Light & Water office at least three business days in advance so that lines and mains can be marked.

Employment

Light & Water hires apprentice linemen from time to time. Applications are taken in person at the office.
