Office of Weights, Measures and Time
The Office of Weights, Measures and Time is a division of Blackgrove Light & Water. Each quarter the Sealer examines and certifies the Township's public clocks and its commercial scales and measures. The certificate is posted here and printed in the Ledger beside the church supper listings.
Township Time
The Township standard of time is kept by the master clock at Light & Water. It is the time used by the Township Offices, the Meeting House tower clock, the schools, the Travel Port and the post. Township clocks are not adjusted for seasonal time changes.
Scales and Measures
Every scale or measure used in trade in the Township must bear a current seal. Complaints about short weight or measure may be made at the Light & Water office during office hours.

Clocks are examined against the Township standard of time and set to the second. Township clocks are not adjusted for seasonal time changes.
The next quarterly examination will be made in October 2026. Owners of commercial scales or measures not listed here may request examination at the Light & Water office during office hours.
