Minutes — Regular Meeting

Present: Samuel Kirke, Moderator; Ruth Ellery, Township Clerk; Joan Whitcomb, Treasurer; and 35 residents
Also present: Harlan Voss, Township Marshal; Frank Odell, Superintendent, Light & Water; Peter Lindqvist, Fire Chief; Gus Bertrand, Foreman, Roads & Grounds
1. Call to order
The Moderator called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were read.
Moved, seconded and voted unanimously to approve the minutes as read.
3. Treasurer's report
The Treasurer reported fund balances at the end of the previous month.

4. Light & Water
Superintendent Odell reported that scheduled maintenance north of the river is set for the 28th, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
5. Marshal
Marshal Voss reported a routine month and reminded residents of trick-or-treat hours, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on October 31.
6. Fire Department
Chief Lindqvist reported 5 calls in the previous month, all handled without injury. The response log is posted on the Fire Department page.
7. Roads & Grounds
Foreman Bertrand reported that leaf collection will be in the last week of October and the second week of November.
8. New business
(a) Winter parking ban. The Marshal proposed that the overnight parking ban run from November 15 through April 1, as in prior years. (b) The Music Festival committee requested use of the upstairs hall on Tuesday evenings, December through February, for rehearsals.
On (a): moved, seconded and voted unanimously. On (b): moved, seconded and voted unanimously, the committee to leave the hall as found.
9. Public comment
H. Penney raised leaf burning on Saturday mornings on the hill road. Chief Lindqvist noted that burning is permitted from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. under permit. The Moderator asked neighbors to be considerate of one another.
10. Adjournment
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
